A GATHERING OF THE CLANS – Over 65 friends and relatives paraded to and from Ocean Beach for the christening at Our Lady of the Magnificat for Jo Anne Riso’s granddaughter – Jordan Nicole Woerner (parents – Tina and Jeff) and Barbara & Pete Cronin’s granddaughter – Erin Rose Mauro (parents Laura & Tim). Father Morrissey officiated… “Golden Days” was filled to the brim with relatives from near and far to attend Kylie Caccia’s baptism at the Free Union Church. Greg, Holly and baby Kylie arrived from Atlanta with Holly’s mom, Faye Gamel. Debbie (nee Caccia) and Chris Cullen flew up from Florida. Grandparents Sue & Ted (a pillar of this church) hosted from airport arrival through the baptismal to the celebratory dinner at Maguire’s…
Unfortunately, great-grandparents Ann and Bill Golden were unable to make the trip for this “Golden Day” but did spend time with Kylie in Bay Shore…
A GALA GATHERING – The firehouse was decorated in black and white (by Jackie Streicher) and guests (from OBP, Seaview and Corneille) were attired in black and white at Mona Pannetti’s black and white party. There was an abundance and impressive array of hors d’oeuvres and serious food – hams, poached salmons, pork tenderloins, pasta salads, coleslaws, grilled vegetables – more food than you can imagine, all prepared by Mona and Barbara Placilla (thanks to Herman Lederberg’s chauffeuring. Black and white cookies and a black and white birthday cake for Michael (Mona’s son) topped it off…

EXCERPTS FROM LAST WEEK’S OBP COLUMN (OMITTED FROM ISSUE FIVE BY The Fire Island News in error) –
Fran and Wally Lobo had a houseful. Mom, Norma Railles, sister Lenore and hubby Alan Eskow with – Scot, Josh (with Karen) and Rachel (with Lee) and extended family, good friends Linda and Jimmy Wolk – all in a three-bedroom house… The Auerbach house bursting at the seams, too. Andrea (nee Auerbach) and Nick Papapetres with Theo, Bella, Olivia and Zach are here for the summer… At Harry Madoff’s, Cheryl Azevedd’s son Jay with wife, Charlene and Cheryl’s grand-children Justin and Cale visited from Tulsa… The outcome of the Volleyball Tournament was a replay of last year – Bob Adler ended up in first place (with Ritchie, Mike and Joe) – How ‘bout giving the other guys a chance, Bob? The Men’s Doubles Tourney was won by Mark Becher – Ric Anderson was runner-up… The Hunts introduced Huron street to “A Taste of Japan”. A deck filled with lanterns and umbrellas, sushi from their favorite Oakdale restaurant, nibblies and dessert from Fort Lee and sake in suggestive cups… Rosemary Schneider’s annual 4th BBQ was All-American. She and her deck were bedecked in red, white and blue and the fare was BBQ chicken with all the trimmings…

MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC —
The mellow sounds of Al Mangino and Lou Gallo can be heard Fridays at the Inn Between as you “Dine With Jazz”… Stanley’s Washboard Kings, founded at an impromptu jam session at Lew Micallef’s in Ocean Bay Park featuring the banjo great. Eddie Davis will liven things up at the Seaview Bay Beach this Saturday 5:30-8 p.m. ($20 to Seaview Assoc)…

MYSTERY MEN — Other than Sally Ingram, Millie Caplow and Herb Winokur how many of you knew those good looking guys were all former Seaview Market delivery boys? Left to right they (and their present lives) are: Corey Black – earned his Master’s in Guidance and tends bar at Bocce Beach. Scott Little runs the Ocean Bay Park Market, is married to Sally’s niece Melanie and is a new dad. Christopher Salata is CFO of Safe Harbor Mortgage, lives in Roslyn with his with and two sons. Danny Kidd sells for Wildman Wines, and resides in Westchester with his wife and two daughters. Jason Little manages Bocce Beach. Matthew Salata is a policeman in Pleasant SC and has a wife and two offspring. You can find Wes Jr. at the Seaview Market and Craig Georgi at Ocean Beach Trading. Luke Kaufman is COO of Fire Island Ferries, a year- round Seaview resident and lives with two pretty ladies – Lisa and Bailey...
