Barefoot And Wagons
Volume 49, Issue 3
By Sandy Drawers
Happy Summer everyone! Have you seen the full moon these last few nights? With these beautiful clear skies I can’t believe anyone has any cares.
Well...I do. And the village does. They are about to create an architectural review board to ensure that new building projects in the commercial district meet local standards of good taste.I think it’s a good idea. Although one person’s good taste is another’s carnival, its at least a try. I’m more on the side of Nantucket than Coney Island anyway.
There’s a rumor going around that there have been a rash of break-ins. Not according to our police blotter. But what did happen is three boys all hovering around 17 years old ransacked the Atlantique consession stand and then came into Ocean Beach and continued to take what they wanted. Luckily they were caught.
There was a day you could leave your doors unlocked. Guess I wouldn’t suggest that anymore. And come to think of it...have a more unique place to hide your keys.(That’s all I’ll say on that. You know who you are.)
Now what about that man fined for yelling— in the morning!? Hey, one man’s yelling is another’s hearty hello...
